El Punto Ciego (The Blind Spot)

El Punto Ciego

El Punto Ciego (English: The Blind Spot) starts off with how there is a part of our vision that is invisible to the eye, hence, the “blind spot”. As a tired man closes the book with this information in mind, another man, a porter, asks him if he’s studying medicine. They carry on a simple conversation, and we are suddenly given another view simultaneously- this time of the porter’s room. They continue talking, and the interesting view of the room continues, until a woman catches the porter’s eye. Curious events then unfold in the split screen. Watch now

Stand By

Stand By

Stand By starts at Christmastime. It was supposed to be a simple car ride with his daughter in the backseat and his wife following behind them, but something went wrong. He tries to move on from what happened, but weird incidents with the radio are keeping him tense. What actually happened that night? What happened to his daughter? Will we ever know for sure? Presencia (Presence)

Presencia

Presencia (Presence, in English) starts off with a woman, who may be in danger of a crime. However, a number of other people come in, and more questions than answers will be raised in the course of the night. Who wants to kill who? Who is the guy in the hoodie? What actually happened that night?

This actually is one film that keeps you guessing, and the actual answer for everything does not seem to be clear. Still, suspenseful in its own right, and definitely curious.

(This is available with English subtitles on Vimeo. This short film is by the same director, and also tackles a crime. Or what about this other film about a man stalking a woman?) Watch now
