Desconocidos (Strangers)

Desconocidos

Desconocidos (Strangers, in English) is a short film about a group of people in the same building. They start the evening doing their usual nighttime activities, but they are forced to change plans when something seemingly inconsequential comes up. This family will thus have to find something together to keep themselves busy through the night.

This short film is quite a reflection of society today, especially with the advent of television and the Internet. It also touches on the subject of keeping secrets between friends and family, especially when a quiet, introverted person is involved. This one made me a little sad, but I suppose it’s a sign of the times.

(This is available with English subtitles on YouTube and Vimeo. Here’s a micro-short film also featuring communication between people today. Or what about this film about a father and child that seem to be familiar and unfamiliar to each other?)

I'm the webmaster and author at Freespanishshortfilms.com. I started this website as a complement to my studies in the Spanish language, but honestly, it just gave me an excuse to watch lots of great short films (like the ones in my author's picks section). I also blog and write short stories.
