Los Ojos Cerrados (Eyes Closed, in English) is a film about Iris, a girl with multiple sclerosis. She is left all alone, since both her mother and her sister died. One day, she is unable to get up, and asks for help from a girl passing by. Little does she know that she is about to get three wishes from this stranger.
This drama is mostly about the tiredness that comes with having a disability. It can be hard sometimes to play nurse to an incapacitated girl, almost as hard as being taken care of because of your weaknesses. However, as difficult as things may be, sometimes it gets better when you simply close your eyes.
(This is available on Vimeo with English subtitles. Here’s another film about a young person contracting an illness. And here’s a film about a sick man and an angry mob.)
