Feliz Cumpleaños starts off with a man and a birthday cake. He is asked to make a wish, and he wishes for the usual: a girlfriend, a house, a job, happiness… and for his life to go by fast. He blows the candles and, well, gets exactly what he wishes for.
This is a simple enough film with a simple enough premise, but it has been done in a very amusing way. You can’t help but laugh at the poor man’s expressions, and you can’t help but pity him in his bewilderment. I suppose that what makes Life good are all those little moments, whether good or bad. And, as usual, be careful what you wish for, since you might just get it.
(This is available with no subtitles on YouTube, and with English ones on Vimeo. Here’s another short film about wishes being granted. And here’s a short film about a guy wishing for his work to be done.)
