7:35 De La Mañana (7:35 In The Morning, in English) starts with a lady entering a cafe for her daily morning ritual. There seems to be something weird about today though. The other customers keep staring her way, the waiters seem oddly quiet, and there are some guys with musical instruments. Oh, then a guy starts to sing.
This is honestly among the cutest and weirdest things in 7 minutes that I have ever seen. I mean, would you use a flash mob to capture a girl’s heart? Plus this flick inspires so many feelings in me: amusement, fear, shock, excitement, and sadness. For all it’s worth, it’s also in black-and-white glory. Fantastic musical short.
(This is available with English subtitles on Vimeo. Here’s a film about another guy wooing a girl with a song. And here’s another film about a guy who’s always after Paco.)
Directed by Nacho Vigalondo
A couple of years ago I saw a short Spanish film about a girl obsessed with her weight and losing weight. She suffered from bulimia. I remember scenes of her exercising, running trying to lose weight followed by binge eating. Does anyone happen to know the name of this short film?
Way late to the the party, but one film about bulimia that I know of (and have featured here) would be El Circulo: http://freespanishshortfilms.com/2014/05/el-circulo-the-circle/
Hope this helps!
